WEEK 3 OF BASEBALL IS IN THE BOOKS!
Another exciting and busy week of baseball has wrapped up here in High River, and we’re already gearing up for another action-packed week on the diamonds!
This past week saw our teams competing both at home and on the road, continuing to build skills, teamwork, and unforgettable memories all across the Foothills region.
Monday kicked things off with one of our 11U teams traveling to Diamond Valley to take on Oilfields, while our other 11U team hosted Millarville right here at home. Our 7U and 15U athletes were also hard at work on the practice diamonds sharpening their skills.
Tuesday saw one of our 9U teams head to Millarville while the other hosted Millarville at home. Our 18U teams kept things local with an exciting High River vs High River matchup, while our 13U teams prepared for a busy week ahead with practices.
Wednesday brought more development time for our 7U and 11U players as they continued practicing and learning the game. One of our 15U teams traveled to Okotoks to battle the Okotoks Dodgers while the other hosted the Okotoks Pirates here at home.
Thursday was another busy day on the diamonds. Our 9U teams practiced and worked on new skills, while one of our 18U teams hosted Chestermere. Both 13U teams were also at home hosting games against the Okotoks Dodgers and Oilfields.
Friday kept the momentum rolling with 7 teams practicing throughout High River while one of our 18U teams traveled to Chestermere for an away game. We also proudly hosted a fantastic Pitching & Skills Clinic led by Geoff Freeborn from Sidearm Nation. Players learned valuable pitching, fielding, and development techniques, and the clinic was a huge success!
Saturday wrapped up the week with our young 5U players enjoying another fun day on the diamonds. One of our 18U teams traveled to Cochrane, while our two 13U teams faced off against each other right here in High River in a great display of local baseball spirit.
As we close out another incredible week of baseball in High River, we encourage everyone to take a look around town during these spring evenings and see just how alive baseball truly is in our community. From young athletes learning the game for the first time to older players competing at high levels, the diamonds across High River are full of energy, teamwork, and community pride.
Thank you to all of our players, coaches, volunteers, umpires, sponsors, and families for making this season so special so far. We can’t wait to do it all again this week!

PITCHING & SKILLS CLINIC - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
High River Minor Baseball is excited to partner with Sidearm Nation to bring an elite-level Pitching, Hitting & Fielding Clinic to Birchwood Park on Friday, May 22nd from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM!
This high-energy clinic will be led by Geoff Freeborn — a former professional pitcher with 5 years of international experience across 5 continents and 2 national teams. Players will get the opportunity to learn advanced techniques, build confidence, and elevate every part of their game.
- PITCHING: Learn the mechanics, mindset, and drills that make elite sidearm and submarine pitchers successful. Perfect for athletes looking to sharpen velocity, command, movement, and deception.
- HITTING:
Improve timing, bat speed, power, and plate approach with drills focused on creating consistent hard contact and stronger offensive performance. - FIELDING:
Develop better footwork, glove control, positioning, and throwing mechanics for both infield and outfield play.

- 4 hours of elite instruction

Whether your player is just picking up a glove for the first time or continuing to develop their skills, we are committed to providing supportive, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable coaches who focus on growth, confidence, and love for the game.
Calling All Coaches & Volunteers!
Along with player registration, coaching registration is also open. Volunteering as a coach is a rewarding way to make a real difference in the lives of young athletes and help keep baseball thriving in our community.
To support our volunteers, we will be offering coaching clinics for new and returning coaches, covering practice planning, skill development, season structure, and most importantly how to keep the game fun and engaging for everyone.

At High River Minor Baseball, we understand that financial barriers shouldn’t prevent kids from playing sports. That’s why we want to remind everyone that programs like KidSport Calgary & Area and Jumpstart are available to provide assistance.
We believe every child should have the opportunity to participate, regardless of experience. Whether you're new to the game or a returning player, our focus is on helping all athletes develop their skills. To support this, we've added an extra practice day for our 9U to 18U divisions, giving players more time to learn and improve.
